香港護理專科學院（護專）衷心感謝李嘉誠基金會慷慨捐款500萬元用作支持護專籌備永久會址。因護專位處瑪嘉烈醫院的臨時會址要配合該院發展計劃的拆卸重建，需另覓場地繼續運作。有關捐款將用於新會址內課室及辦公室的建造裝修工程、添置教學和辦公器材設備。
這項捐助對護專在落實持續教育以推進專科護理實務的使命和提升高級護理的願景確實是無價。新會址將為護專全部14所護理分科學院提供場地舉辦培訓和院士考試等活動。此外，護專會繼續推動各分科學院與本地及國際大專院校和大學的護理學院合作，提供高等護理教育課程。
是次的捐款大大改善了教學設施，護專定必能提供更多高級護理實踐課程以填補龐大知識需求，從而滿足現今護理學一日千里的發展、大眾對醫療衛生的需要、以及政府和大灣區醫療健康改革及政策。
護專再次衷心感謝李嘉誠基金會慷慨解囊及善心支持以提升護士才能，從而改善大眾尤其弱勢社群的健康。
The Hong Kong Academy of Nursing (HKAN) expressed heartfelt appreciation to Li Ka Shing Foundation for the generous donation of $5 million. This is very timely in supporting the relocation of office from the Princes Margaret Hospital which will undergo re-development to a new site. The donation will be used for the construction and fitting out works of the new site for office and classrooms, as well as purchase of furniture and equipment for teaching and office setups.
The donation is invaluable to support our mission of enabling continuing education to advance the specialty nursing practice and our vision to excel advanced practice nursing. The new site will serve as an activity hub for all 14 Academy Colleges of HKAN to conduct regular training and fellowship examination. With our own teaching site, HKAN would continue to facilitate the Colleges to collaborate with the Schools of Nursing of local and international tertiary educational institutes and universities to offer high level educational programs.
This donation fund contributes to the betterment of the teaching and learning facilities, thus, HKAN will be able to offer more advanced practice courses to address the huge educational demand to meet the rapid advancement in nursing knowledges, the healthcare needs of the population as well as the health policy initiatives of the government and Greater Bay Area.
Once again, The HKAN would like to express our deepest appreciation to Li Ka Shing Foundation for the philanthropic support to enhance the competence of nurses for improving the health of the public especially the vulnerable and the disadvantaged.
